when I enter a phone number in a contact record, it does not enter the area code seperately and does not add a dash in the number so it is just one big string of numbers. How can I change the default format for those fields?

I didn't realize that the country field had this phone formatting tied to it, so I had created a contact layout which didn't include the country field. After reading this I went back into the layout designer, added the country field to the layout, and then added the United States to all the contacts in our database, including My Record. I also made sure that all the phone formats in My Record were the format I want. When adding a new contact, or adding a phone number to an existing contact, the program still won't default to the United States as the phone format. The United States (with the format (%%%) %%%-%%%%) is the only format that I want in the phone numbers; what is the easiest way to get ACT to do that? Thanks.
