converting Act!2006 to 2010

Hi there. Sorry if this is a naive question, but I just installed 2010 on a new Vista machine and am trying to convert my 2006 data base to the new 2010 version. My 2006 database is in  .zip file, but the conversion window on the new 2010 is asking to locate the .dbf file. What am I doing incorrectly? I know I'm not suppose to unzip the 2006 backup, but I have no idea where to locate the .dbf file they're asking me for.

Thanks!

Re: converting Act!2006 to 2010

Hi Mike,

OK, so I ended up restoring the old data base, but when we try to open it, it's asking for our user name and password, but I never had a password associate with my Act! 2006.  Any ideas how to get around this so I can open up the newly restored data base?

thanks!

Re: converting Act!2006 to 2010

you have to be kidding. The link above requires a $100 payment to retrieve a username and password I never set up? I am having the same issue as Vinson, cannot convert my Act! 2006 to Act! 2010...

I have tried to backup and restore.

I have tried to copy the database.

I have treid to open directly from Act! 2010.  Nothing works.
