Joined computer to workgroup; had to change name of pc (XP) to get it to communicate with new vista pc. Act still on original computer. No other hardware or software changes. I suspect that db identification is tied to computer name and changing the name is causing db to be inaccessible. Unfortunately, the old name was some cryptic thing that I didn't write down (kicks self...) and don't remember. How can I get Act to change DB name or otherwise accept this new reality?
The error message is:
The database AHSU_Inge2 could not be accessed. In order to access this database, check your network connection and verify that your database server is available. It may be necessary to disable any firewall software on your computer or the server.
are in same folders, same computer.
SQL server has not moved physically, although with the pc's new name sql server might think it has moed.
