I running ACT 2007 on several computers (5) and my database is on a shared network drive, everything has been go great (love ACT). Lost a computer and had go get a new one. New computer is running Win 7 64 bit, so I purchased ACT 2009 to run on that computer (ACT 2007 not supported). I installed the new ACT and when I try to access the network database I keep getting and error that says “cannot authenticate user”. I went to another computer and sign on with the user ID and password and all work fine. I have search the web and found all kind of ideas but nothing works. What am I doing wrong?

Databases can't be shared between versions.

You went from one obsolete, unsupported version to another obsolete unsupported version. All Users of an ACT database need to be on the same version of ACT. ACT 2009 is not supported for Windows 7 64 Bit. However, can not authenticate users does not sound like the kind of error I would expect from your type of problem. I believe there are several things going on that may be causing your problem.
Current version of ACT is 2012.
