User workstation with the same recurring error: "can not initialize email mail not sent" when clicking contact email address to open a blank email, typically after restarting Windows 10.

Clicking the Email button on the toolbar menu also results in "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

 

Renamed normal.dotm and normalemail.dotm to .old and recreated when launching MS Word and MS Outlook.

 

The consistently successful workaround fix is to manually register the redemption.dll located in "c:\program files(x86)\ACT\Act for Windows" with regsvr32.exe (drag and drop dll onto the exe method), per the act! knowledgebase article(s).

 

Version of the redemption.dll downloaded: 5.11.0.4622

 

Is there a way to ensure this file stays registered?

Using Act! 21 desktop, Update 9, in Windows 10: Same problem with trying to write E-mail message-merge with Outlook (from template) not working. I did just try something that worked as a workaround. Instead of selecting Write / E-mail message (from template), I first selected Write / E-mail message. It opened the email correctly. I let that stay open; then went back and selected Write / E-mail message (from template) and the template merged and opened correctly. I then closed the first email and proceeded with my merged document. 

 

Act! is buggy! Period. I have been using it for years, and I can't believe there is no near-equal alternative on the market.

I am having the same issues.  So frustrating...and I wholeheartedly agree about the amount of bugs in ACT.  It literally was working fine yesterday and I now have to deal with this (!).
