backing up 2011Pro

backing up 2011Pro

I thought i had backed up to main computer as well as backing up to outside network drive. only found the back up in the outside network drive but not the main computer. am i doing this right?

How are you trying to backup?
The easiest way is to use the ACT! Scheduler to automatically backup to a ZIP file, then use other methods to keep a copy of the ZIP off-site

One good way would be to create an ACT BAckup folder on your C drive, use the ACT Scheduler here, then set your online backup (like carbonite or dropbox to grab the ACT backups within the backup folder.

 

Do not use carbonite or dropgox to backup the ACT database directly, as they won't grab the whold thing (because the ACT database is kept open by MS SQL) you will be left with no ACT Backup in the event of a crash.
