attaching email to contacts

I have gone through the process a number of times and cannot seem to get the connections made. I am using Outlook and have the "act" icons on Outlook but the mail does not attach to the contact. Preferences---email--Microsoft Outlook and always save the file---email wizard---next--set up email---next, etc

Re: attaching email to contacts

Try starting/restarting Act.Outlook.Service.exe
  1. Open Task Manager and select the processes tab.
  2. See if Act.Outlook.Service.exe is there. If so, end process on it.
  3. Now go to the following location to start Act.Outlook.Service.exe - C:\Program Files\ACT\ACT for Windows
  4. Test!

Re: attaching email to contacts

"Test"? test how, what? Opened task manager and Act.outlook.service.exe was not running. So I found Act.outlook.service.exe folder. Cicked on it to open and it would not "open" or do anything.

Re: attaching email to contacts

FIXED! Don't know how or why but I have a version of ACT tied to my Start-up menu and another duplicate version running that is not tied to start-up all the messages that I have been trying to attach have been there all along on the non-start-up application and not showing up on the start-up application. Does that make sense? Anyway, I tried to remove the application from start-up but it will not move because of some security protocols. I'll have our IT folks check it out and move it. Thanks for your help. Very Bizarre.

Re: attaching email to contacts

I have attempted this sequence several times this morning and re-booted computer.  It is still not attaching e-mail to ACT contact.  Any other suggestion?

Thanks,

Dan

Re: attaching email to contacts

Dan, can you provide some more information about your situation:

- what version of Act!?

- what version of Outlook?

- do you have the Act! address book added to Outlook?

- do you see any Act! icons on the Outlook toolbar?

- what is the operating system of the computer?
