admin record in remote database

How can I avoid showing the notes (or the entire record) of the admin user in a remote database?

Re: admin record in remote database

You can't hide User records in the database (Publisher or remote)... you can make specific Notes Private - but then they can ONLY be seen by that one user.

You might post a request for this feature to be considered for a future version here -
http://community.act.com/t5/SHARE-YOUR-IDEAS/idb-p/ideas

Input from this web page goes directly into a database that management has direct access to read, and which they also track and gather statistics on. It also allows other users to vote on these so Sage can get an idea of the demand

This article might help word the request to make it easier for management to look at it:

Re: admin record in remote database

Can all past activities associated with a user be made private (without opening each of them and checking the private field)?

Re: admin record in remote database

Not a function in ACT!

We did an addon that does this for a client ... it also marks all (old, new or edited) Notes, History, Opportunities and Activities as Private when linked ONLY to User My Records - if also linked to a non-user contact, it leaves them as set

So, if one user emails another user, the history will be Private (if from Outlook when ACT! is closed, marked when ACT! is opened by any user) ... but if email to a non-user (or users and at least one non-user), it's left normal.

Is the addon available?

Thanks

Re: admin record in remote database

I didn't make it a generic app, because I didn't think there was enough demand.

I can do a version for you... send me a message via: http://www.glcomputing.com.au/contact.php

Include the version of ACT! and the number of users.
