act v21 outlook 2016 attachments cannot be replied/forwarded

Since mid-July 2019 when we open an Act! email attachment in Outlook 2016 it is missing the Reply and Forward icons - see screenshots. Our support partner was given a Swiftpage Defect code GS1613.

 

Any workaround?

Hi,

 

You can try changing the history preference to "subject and message", instead of "Subject, Message and Attachments" as a workaround.

Hi Paul.  Thanks for attempting a solution, but just this week I got the following update from Swiftpage:

"Defect GS-1613. Currently when you open an email attachment, it opens as if it’s a brand new message and gives the option to send it as if it was such, rather than opening a copy of the email that can be replied to or forwarded. The defect was raised in Act! v21.1 Update 2 and is listed as being fixed in v22 which is due for release in the next few weeks although a concrete date is yet to be set."

So patience until the fix and if history repeats itself, something else that worked OK will now become a new Defect!

Just installed v22 and the email issue is not fixed. Surprise, surprise.

 

Also as prophesied Swiftpage have broken the History tab that worked perfectly in v21. Now text in the "Regarding" line doesn’t appear, takes up 2cm and text is fixed as Verdana 16 point. How come they manage to break this?
