act premium 2013 error message

when we installed 2013 premium we were unable to sync with outlook. 

 

got frustrated and got in touch with tech support...............on and on and on!

 

 

we uninstalled outlook 2007 enterprise and act.

 

reinstalled outlook and it works fine, but when one installs act it fails... error message   act outlook mfc application, at the end of the install of act and then at the end of the uninstall....again!!!!!!!!!!

 

any ideas, much appreciated.

Is that the exact error?

Can you try again after a reboot ... also, before the ACT! install, check with Task Manager that Outlook and Word are not running in background

Then can you also post any related error in the Windows Event Log

incidentally, tech support said the only way to fix this issue was to do a system restore.

 

any thoughts?

Without the error logs, can't say ... but I really dislike System Restore as a solution
