YES / NO fields question

Hello everybody,

I would like to know how to create "excludent yes/no fields".

I mean:

I have created five "yes/no" fields and would like to keep only one checked. Of coarse they appear in a given tab.

If I check one and change my mind and check another one previous and any other in "same group" should be cleared.

Something like "public" and "private" ACT fields. It is not possible to have an act contact record both private and public.

If one is checked the other is instantly unchecked.

I also would like to fill another field based on one ot those "yes/no" fields. For example:

If y/n #1 is checked "sum field" = 10

If y/n #2 is checked "sum field" = 20

etc.

Is it possible ?

I also use "Abacus Calculated Fields" from Act Presentation.

Thanks for any help.

Re: YES / NO fields question

Hello John,

Well, thanks for taking your time to answer my topic.

It is a shame we can´t do that ! I was planning to create a new tab with questions that would help me to qualify leads along side sales process!

I will do that using VB controls in a Excel worksheet and attach to customer documents tab. No the ideal but... well it well be there.

Thank once more.

Re: YES / NO fields question

My disclaimer:  I am not a techncian

I use a lot of yes/no fields but without any conditions.

I do not believe that conditions can be put on 2 or more yes/no fields that if one is checked the other(s) is/are not checked.

Hopefully if I am wrong, someone much smarther than I will pop in and let you know for sure.
