Wrong Default Country Ccode in Phone Field

I'm using an australian version of Act in United States. When I import database the Default Country Code in the Phone Filed is Australia.

Even if I change the setting on the first record and then I proceed with the import I get stuck with the australian Country Code

I then need to edit one by one each record (making sure I save the phone number somewhere else first).

Is there a way to change the default setting to US country code and formatting

The trick is to make sure that your Country field is set to your country in your My Record field. If you go to 'Lookup' > 'My Record'. Then just check to see what country you have on your record. 

 

Not that I want to encourage you to be un-Australian Smiley Wink

I have it set up correctly

When I first said I changed the COuntry COde on my First record I spoke unproperly but I meant excatly this.

I create a New Database. I edit the first record (My Record) phone field to US country code

Then I import the database. Any additional contact imported will default to Austalian (61) Country code and of course wrong formatting as well

Changing to United States in the phone field won't fix your problem. You have to put your Country in the Country Address Field. This is this is the field with your address information e.g.

123 Main St

Los Angeles

California

United States

 

Unless you put United States in the Country address field it thinks you are Australian.

first of all thank you very much. It looks like I'm not an australian anymore.

Changing the Country in the address did it.

But now the phone number is not getting the US default format (%%%) %%%-%%%% I gave to "My Record"

The Country Code changed to US but the Format default to "Free Form"

Any hint on this
