I tried to start Sage ACT! Pro 2011 Version 13.0.401.0, Hot Fix 2 (running with Windiows 7 Professional, SP1). I received the error message where you must go to services and manually start SQL Server (ACT7). This has happened before and once I start SQL Server (ACT7) I have no issues with ACT Pro 2011 Version 13.0.401.0,
To day I did the same thing, and I was not allowed to start ACT Pro 2011. I recived two errors:
and,
I read similar issues in the community, but nothing specifiic to these two error.
Can anyone advise as to how to correct this problem, so that I can get back to the business at hand?
Thnaks for any help which may be offered.

Hi Harold,
as stated in the thread before, there are a bunch of possible reasons, main reason is dot.net 4.x we did see this a few times at customers from us.
depending on your IT Knowhow, and your free time that you want to spend on this issue, we allways recomend to consider a ACT upgrade.
this link explains how you can remove dot.net 4.x,

Will an ACT upgrade (I am assuming you mean an upgrade to a later version), clear this problem? If so, can I use Act! Pro v16 (2014)? Or would can I get away with an earlier version, like Sage ACT! Pro 2013?
I tried to reinstall Sage ACT! Pro 2011! Do you know anything about this error message
How do I uninstall the correct SQL server? I went to Programs & Features in Control Panel, and found diiferent programs which are called Microsoft SQL Server 2008, but none callled Microsoft SQL Server 2008 ACT7!
Do I delete any of these? Or is their another way of deleting Microsoft SQL Server 2008 ACT7? Once I uninstall the correct version of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (ACT7), will ACT reinstall it again during setup?
Also will installing a later version of ACT correct these problems?

Harold,
ACT2013 and act16 (2014) will both work, as they both work with SQL2008R2
the easy way is, to use the actuninstaller.exe, to remove everything, (your database is still there, then install act15 or act16, delete the pad file, open the ADF file, and you are done... so if you download the trail today, you should be up and runing again.
i would strongly recommend to consider ACT16, as act2013 will not be maintained by Swiftpage
