Thanks Daniel for your feedback. I have Act Pro Version 17 - is that considered a "future" version?

I don't believe ACTProV17 is considered a "future" version. Whatever they are currently working on, I am pretty sure will have a different number designation. ACT is great in making you pay for the latest updates and chances are they will make changes which you will not particularly care for. Just my opinion. You may want to go back and read all the message listed under Windows 10 update. You are only talking 7 pages and it's a quick read.

Thanks Daniel - having been an ACT user since ACT 2.0, I know what you need. I must say - 90% of all computer issues I have had over all these years are centered around ACT. Unfortunately, it is really the only game out there :-(

The word from Swiftpage is Version 17 and future versions. Development is working of fixes and compatibility testing for Version 17. When available it will likely be in the form of a service pack. The big problem for development isn't just fixing the problems with Windows 10 but fixing them in a way that ACT! remains compatible with prefious versions of Windows, not an easy task.

Thanks so much Roy for you feedback and update. If I understand you correctly, Version 17 has issues under the Windows 10 OS, so would you recommend that I wait to upgrade to Windows 10 until after the Fix Patch?
Thanks
Ron

Thanks so much Britney - since I use ACT everyday for business, I think it would make sense to hold off upgrading to Windows 10 until the known issues have been addressed. For the most part, ACT V17 plays nicely with Windows 8.1 - I certainly don't want to upset the "big" kid on the block :-)

For what it's worth, I received the free update to Windows 10 invitation and I didn't take it. It appears to me that the reason that Microsoft is giving away the free upgrade is so they can shed a significant part of their legacy support in the operating system. For example, Windows 10 no longer supports SQL R2008 R2, only SQL 2012 and 2014. This means thatACT! 16 won't install on a new Windows 10 machine. It can be installed but you have to do a manaul install of SQL R2008 R2 (it will install but isn't supported by Microsoft) and then install ACT!.
Should you hold off going to Windows 10, that's a decision you would have to make.

Makes sense - I appreciate thata additional bit of insight.

I am new to the Act! Community, so please excuse my silly question. I am running Act! 17.2 and was wondering if anyone has an estimated date when this version will be completely compatible with Windows 10?
