I'm in the same exact boat as you tiotaco -- "Error Accessing Database" now that I'm on Windows 10. It was a solid install and nothing seems corrupted.
Like others on here, I too am a long-time Act user. I rely on it heavily for my business which has now been brought to a complete stop thanks to this error. Any help is greatly appreciated.
UPDATE: Following this advice in the other main thread worked for me:
Alternatively you may try pressing Windows Key + R to show the Run prompt, type in services.msc and find SQL Server (ACT7) and restart it.

Well these guys sound like they're on top of it at least. I don't mind mickey-mousing things in the meantime as long as I'm still able to get to my database.

No, it is a LOT worse than an annoyance. It means we can't use ACT to write emails to our clients, based on a template or otherwise. This is a huge deficiency, as far as I'm concerned.
