Why can't I add a field to a layout? Won't show up on drop down list.

Hi Folks,

I am new to ACT!, but know FileMaker fairly well.

I am perplexed about why even though a field exists in

the database, it doesn't show up on the drop-down list

when in "Design Layout" mode.

I've searched this forum and the Web, and don't see a

clear answer.  I've seen answers that indicate the

field must already be on the layout.  As far as I can

tell it is not.

How do I get these fields on the layout?

Many, many, thanks in advance for your help!

Which version of ACT! are you using?

It could be the type of field. Yes/No fields and Memo fields will not show up in the fields dropdown, when you draw a field for a Yes/No or Memo field, a special selection box will come up.

Thanks, Roy.

I tried dropping "yes/no", "memo", and any other type of field

on the layout, with no success.

The fields are "Lead Source" and "Inside Sales Rep".  These aren't

special fields like "First Name" or "Last Name" are they?

Any other ideas?
