We're using ACT 2009 with Outlook. Some months ago, Outlook crashed and permanently lost a bunch of old e-mails from 2009 that we sorely need. While making backups and restoring and so forth, we came across an ACT file with a copy of every e-mail that was in Outlook, even the ones that Outlook lost. We didn't pay enough attention to where that file was, however, and now we need it, and can't find it! ACT is the e-mail editor. Where is this duplicate email?

There may be a file location for ACT! that has some or all of your emails. It depends on how used used email in ACT!. If you were using Outlook as the email client in ACT!, then there is a database folder that contains email messages that were attached to the contact history in the ACT! database. I doubt this will contain all of the messages you are looking, but it may help. You will fins this in the Attachments folder for your database files. This should be in the same location as your ACT! database (example: C:\ACT Database\MyDatabase-database fles\Attachments). The attached messages will be .msg files. I do not know a way to get these back into your Outlook mailbox, other than when you open the attachments, to resend them.
Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
