When email contact is not in ACT there is no warning that it did not attach to something

In the past there was an addon call Outlook Extension that would warn us when we sent an email that was not in the database and allow us to make a new contact.  Today when we email out, like a reply in outlook, if the contact is not in our database it does not tell us and we do not get the contact in the database.  Outlook Extensions is out of business. Is there a chance to develop this feature in ACT or is there a third party that does this for the new ACT 2008

jbird123,

Check out Outlook Integrater1. This might offer the functionality you want.

What does this do that the ACT integration with Outlook does not?  They don't put much info on their website.

apparently the programmer for the original "outlook extensions" is with this "designr1" company.  We are testing it right now for reliability.  big pluses include, able to exclude emails from attaching to user histories (security). When sending an email out from outlook.. perhaps a reply to someone, it will prompt you automatically if the contact is not in the database and ask you to make a new contact.. ast that point it provides all the field to make the contact along with some additional definable fields so you do not even have to officially go to the contact.  Right now the jury is out on how it works but so far is interesting.  you need to go into the options area of outlook and set some thing before it works.  play with it and see.

Yes, it was good, also If you have any input on product development perhaps you can urge Sage to talk to them.  The method of search they use is direct to the database versus a seperate table (which is slower) also the ability to fill in the primary fields for a new contact when emailing is invaluable.
