What´s new in next ACT release

From what I know there is plans to launch a new ACT update next January.

I would like to know what is planned to this new version.

I have made some suggestions and would like to know if those will be there.

Is there a place to find it ?

Thank you David.

By the way there is a way no know what has been suggested ?

I believe that ACT forum help Sage to understand were most problems are (and make it better) but to know what has been suggested help user to understand what WE are doing to help you to make it better.

This is a suggesttion.

Thank you once more.

[ Edited ]

Currently, there isn't any documentation with what's new or changed with the update. Typically, we publish a knowledgebase article before releasing the update that will list any new features and major fixes.

I will update this post when the article is released.

Re: What´s new in next ACT release

Could I suggest that we have a "New Feature Requests" forum so we could all share what others would wish to see as future product developments. Clearly, we would have to accept that just because something appeared in the forum did not mean that it was going to happen but I think that sharing ideas would be a benefit for all. It would also make visible the strength of support for particular ideas.

Even if Sage did not wish to develop ideas aired in the forum it might encourage third party add-on developers to produce products to enhance the functionality of the product line.

Re: What´s new in next ACT release

The present Request a Feature is a better avenue for feature requests. One of the factors that influence which new features are considered for development is the number of different users that request the feature. As for the add on developers, simply contact one of them with your request and they would do an evaluation of the feasibility of doing the development.

Re: What´s new in next ACT release

Roy

I wouldn't see a forum as a replacement for the current New Feature Request procedure, rather as something to complement it. The current new feature request procedure is, from the software developer's point of view, statistically sound and a quantitative measure of the requests from the software users.

The only down-side from the users point of view is that (a) if you have a suggestion for a new feature you have no idea if others share your view and (b) you don't know what others are requesting.

A forum is more qualitatitive, but I think that bringing suggestions out in the open for "peer review" and discussion is a good thing. I have seen other software suppliers run new feature request forums and they can be both lively and inspiring. Often an idea is proposed by one person and is then developed by the rest of the group. You can also run a poll with a particular feature request to guage the strength of feeling for that suggestion.

Anyone else out there like to see a Feature Request Forum?

Re: What´s new in next ACT release

Sounds good to me Jeff !

Sage could also allow us quote how important a suggestiont is maybe using a feature similar to "quoting" from present forum.

"What we want and how much we want it" and decide what to do first along side with Sage´s view for bug fixing and improvments.

Thank you once more guys for kind attention to mi topic.

... and a very nice, productive, profitable and healty new year to all of us.
