What is causing this error message to appear?

It happens when I try and save my edited layout. There is no one else on the database and there are no other act windows open.

Error saving layout: process cannot access the file "X" on the
server because it is being used by another program.

Is the ACT! database actually on a server or on your PC?

On a server

What version of ACT!?

V10 with FACT overlay V12

When did you begin seeing the error?

When I was accessing the files from a remote location

Is it just that one file?  What happens if you edit another one?

Just that one file

Can you attach a file successfully to the Documents tab?

Yes

I would surmise that if you attempt to edit other file types (reports or templates for example) and get something similar, than you have some kind of permissions/file rights misconfiguration on the supplemental file folder.

If it is only that one layout file, perhaps it has gotten corrupted.

Uh oh.  I guess you know what the answer to the question above is....

Thank you for your help!
