Does anyone have an easy solution for designating the "Decision Maker" in a company when you have several contacts in the same company? I added in a field for "Company Principal Contact" to the Company Layout field but there is no easy way to tag the appropriate contact as the Principal contact? For sales purposes we want to know who is the decision maker. Anyone have any suggestions as to how we can more efficiently do this?

One other option is to create a drop-down box with key phrases or identifies such as:
The check box is good too.

Thats exactly what the ID/Status field is for.. Note in the field drop down list is exactly that option: Decision Maker.
You can even add a item to that drop down list if desired. Simple.. cheers - FSBill

Thank you for your suggestions. This works for Contact records, however, when I am looking at a Companies I want to be able to easily see who is the decision maker without having to go through all of the Contact records.

On the Company side of ACT!
Reference Contacts TAB
Customize Column view to include ID/Satus - see image below
You can also do same sort of thing in the Opportunities module of ACT!.
Pure ACT! and keepin it simple. .
