Version 11 "One or more errors have been detected"

 

Wehave 3 machines running v.11, all Windows updates are up to date.

 

Oftenwe see  "One or more errors have been detected. Place yourmouse on the red error indicator(s) to display the error message(s)". There are no red indicators on the screen, all the fields looknormal. It is not possible to close Act as the error message keepsappearing, and it is impossible to change records. The only solutionis to close the database from the file drop down, then close Act &re-start. The error happens on all machines. Before upgrading to 11 we did not have this problem.

 

Havingsearched the forum I didn't find this problem. Has anyone elsesuffered from this?

Thanks for the link. The problem happened again today & using the article we spotted the error in a tab.

This should explain the problem - pretty easy fix.

In the sage knowledgebase - search selected text:  One or more errors have been detected

 

results; 

 

There is more than one known cause of this issue. This error can occur if you are entering a contact that is already in the database when Duplicate Matching is enabled. The error may also result if the Allow Blank attribute has been disabled for a field on your layout.

We had this same problem today, with the error message and no visible red indicator.

 

On checking the lower portion of the screen there was a hidden red indicator next to a User set field which had been set as Allow Blank disabled ..

 

Changing the charachteristics of the field solved the issue for us.
