Upgrading Act 11 to to latest version

Hi,

What is the correct procedure to upgrade from Act 11 running on Win XP with Office 2007, to the latest version of Act running on Windows 7 with Office 2013?

Thanks

To a new machine?

Back up your Act database (to removable drive?)

Transfer your files using Windows Easy Transfer

Install Office 2013 (if necessary)

Install Act v16

Restore your Act database (from removable drive?)

It should all just work. Smiley Happy

Re: Upgrading Act 11 to to latest version

Thanks for that,

So does that mean that:

a) you can go straight from v11 to v16?

b) will the current v11 Act databases have to upgraded in anyway as part of the migration?

c) as a precaution, can we run V11 and V16 on the same PC?

Cheers

Yes, you can go from v11 to v16. When you restore, it will prompt you that it is going to upgrade the database.

And no, you shouldn't try to run both versions of Act on the same computer.
