A few months ago we upgraded our company's databases from 2002 to 2009. Everything seemed to go well except that now the templates won't automatically fill in fields unless I edit each template, remove the field, then re-add it. Is there a better way of doing this? There are 100+ templates and doing that for each one will be tough.
Additionally, would it help if we went to Premium for workgroups and had each user share a pool of templates? How much more complicated would that be?

If everyone is accessing the same database, everyone will have the same templates. You don't need to upgrade to Premium.
Did you convert the templates after upgrading? You can convert templates by going to Tools > Convert ACT! 3.0 to 6.0 Items...
