Upgrade problems

I am updating a database which was created in 5.0 to 2009 v11. The database was created by a former employee and he gave me the password to use the database but I did not know this was not the Admin password till I tried to update the database to 9.0.

 

Is there a way to upgrade this or a way to find the password?

 

Any help is appreciated.

He/She should have a utility that will retrieve ACT 5 usernames and passwords.

If I export the data to a CSV file and then import to v9 will that work?

You will lose the Notes, History and Opportunities.
