Updated to ACT! now have problems!

I updated act! yesterday and now when i try to open the original database i get an error saying "The database xxxx could not be accessed. In order to access this database, check your network connection and verify you database server is available".

 

Now the machiene i am on is the machiene that others in the office access, any ideas how this can be fixed? I do have a backup and have tried reloading that. But that doesn't let all users access to the database only some users. What steps do i need to take?
