Update for ACT!2010 problems

Whenever I open ACT! (2010), since I've owned it, a popup appears to tell me that upgrades are available.  When I click on that popup, another message shows up that states I must be an Windows Administrator to authorize an update.  I am a sole user on my laptop, and in the Database Information section in the Help menu, my security role is shown as Adminstrator.  How can I correct this?

Re: Update for ACT!2010 problems

Hello Boiseshep,
Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. This is usually caused by the User Account Control Function (UAC) in Windows Vista and Windows 7. To workaround this, close ACT!, then reopen it by right-clicking on the program icon and selecting "Run As Administrator". You may also have to disable UAC through the User Accounts option in your Windows Control Panel.

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
