I hope someone may help with this issue. ..
I have just upgraded from act v 6 to act pro v19. I use act primarily to generate lists for field engineers visits. using v 6 was so simple.
If I apply the same procedure in v 19, the printed list is not chronological despite the contact list displaying correctly.
This is what I do:
From my contacts, I create a look up based on a date field ie only show contacts that contain data in the date field
I then sort the date field in my list, this displays my list chronologically
But when I preview the print list it is in some crazy random order !
Am I missing the obvious ??

An ink printed list is posted on the engineers wall board for reference.
I know I can export to Excel & do it that way, but a hard copy for quick reference is invaluable for several reasons.
I'm just so frustrated, that this process was done quickly with a macro in version 6, now I'm on v19 I can't

To print a list of contacts, ordered by a date field, you can do the following:
The printed list will be ordered in the same way as the list view is displayed in Act!

That's exactly what I do, the look up is perfect, but the print preview is random ?
I am on Act! Pro Version 18.104.22.168, Update 4 (pc based) see attached

Ahh, it looks like you're printing the list as a Report Printout Type.
If you're doing this so that you have visibility of specific fields (in your case the Equipment or Calibration fields for example) in the printout, then a report is one way of doing this. If you only need the Company and Contact Names, then you could use the Address Book Printout Type.
Let's assume you need those extra fields, and want the printout as a report. You'll need to edit the report to set the sorting order in the section which produces the contact list. To do this:
