Unable to change field security

Unable to change field security

We have Act Pro 2011 and are not able to change the field security.  Logged in as an adminstrator.  Trying to change the Total field in the opportunities tab.  Editing only gives me the option for the field to be a read-only field.  How can I change this?

Hello Tracy,
The user-specific options for field security are only available in the Premium version. The Pro version only offers Full Access or Read-Only and cannot be defined by user.

Hello Greig,

 

Thanks for the info.  Because it is a Read-Only field, does that mean we are not able to use that field in the Pro version?  If we cannot add the amount to the field we are not able to use it?

In the Pro version, you can only make the field Full Access or Read-Only. If the field is a system or calculated field (like the Total field), then it is Read-Only as no data can be manually entered in to it. This same rule would apply in the Premium version as well. The only way you can change the value in the Total field is to change the values for the Products (under the Products/Services tab) that make up that total.
