Unable to access after setting up password

I wanted to add a password to my database and did that on Saturday.  I then closed it and could not get back into it to access it.  It's giving me the message, "Could not authenticate user. Verify the user name and password, and try again"  I've looked thru the knowledge base to find how to verify my username, and have it, and the password, but still get the message.  I'm using ACT! by Sage 2006 Version 8.0.2.82.  Not sure what to do, but definitely need access to it.  Suggestions?

Did you happen to create a backup before changing the password, that you could restore?

The password will be case sensitive, you may need to try capitalizing one or more character.

Thanks.  I was able to get help from a consultant and reset the password.  It had something to do with the username being changed and that's why I could not access it.
