Had error with Act Pro 2011
Had to uninstall and reinstall from DVD
Now trying to upgrade to latest version SP1 HF 6
Now have Sage ACT! Pro 2011 Version 13.0.401.0, Hot Fix 2
Error installing ACTPro2011SP1_US_Update_HF1
Error: "An earlier version of Sage Act! has been detected. To install Sage Act! Pro 2011, uninstall your previous version and start this installation again."

Per your instructions below, I am fully up to date on ACT Pro 2011 releases.
This may be caused by some install files from the previous install conflicting with the current install. The easiest way to resolve to is to uninstall ACT! via your control panel, reboot your computer, then reinstall using the full updated version. The reinstall should not take long as you are only installing ACT! and not the SQL Server. Here is the link to download ACT! 2011 Pro with SP1 and HF1 already applied. To get fully updated, just apply Hot Fix 6 after reinstalling the full version:

For other users with the sames issues, please note that
> the ACT Pro 2011 SP1 HF1 is not the Update but the full SP1.
> it does required you to unistall your original DVD version (unlike other company's Services Packs).

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
