Re: Trying to install ACT2008 but get a "Forced Protocal Encryption (FPE) SQL

Hi Peter,

Most Sony machines come with their own SQL instance, this is what is probably causing you an issue during the install of SQL.

If you go into the SQL Server Configuration Manager, you should see the Sony Instance of SQL

Right click on the Sony Instance and select 'Properties'

On the 'Flags' tab, under general you will see 'Force Encryption' if this is set to Yes, try changing it to No and attempt to install.

Also, before doing the above steps, you can try completely disabling the Sony instance under Services (start/run/services.msc) and that may allow you to install our sql instance without changing the encryption.
