The SQL Database Instance is Unavailable

I opened ACT this morning to find the error message 'The SQL Database Instance is Unavailable.'  I found online that other people have had this problem as well, so I checked the settings in the SQL Server Configuration Manager, still have the messgae.  What would be my next step?  It says I might have to re-install ACT, if I do will I lose my database or will it re-install keeping it intact.

Thanks,

Scott

Re: The SQL Database Instance is Unavailable

Run services.msc (the window that appears should contain your Windows Services)

Scroll down to SQL Server (ACT7) (it should say "Started" and the type of startup should be "Automatic")

You can start the service up from here if necessary.
