I almost hate to bring up this problem without stating the error that came up...something to do with Administrator Privilages. I backed up my Desktop and Restored my Laptop with the desktop database successfully after updating laptop to the same (latest) version as the desktop. I am using Act! Pro 2012. After working and adding some contacts on the laptop (while watching football) I backed up the laptop. I started the desktop the next morning, did a restore as...and it restored but when I went to open the database there was an error and would not let me use the new database produced by the laptop. I ended up manually copying data to the desktop to avoid further problems but it does make me nervous to try future exchanging data between the laptop (XP) and the Desktop (Win7-64). Any ideas what happened? I did not intend to write a novel...

Why don't you set up synchronization between the desktop and the laptop?

That sounds like you have a switch (wireless box) that you use to connect to the internet. If so then setting up a home network is fairly simple though you might need to get someone to help you. Once that is setup it's easy to setup ACT! synchronization between the system.

OK I know what you are saying. I never thought of creating a network and syncing Act Before. I will give it a shot. I'm sure it would be easier if all 3 machines were Windows 7.
