Lets say I have 10 customers in my database, and customer# 1 (Mr. Smith) is going away for 6 months, and I don't want him to show up on any customer lists until he returns. Is there someway to "put" him somewhere, and save all his info, and then retrieve it when he returns?
Thanks in advance for your help!

One way to do this is to create an inactive user and then make the records private with the record manager being the inactive user. This way you will not be able to see the records until they are again made public

I like Paul's idea but be sure that you have an extra license available for the 'inactive user'. Once the contact record is made Private to that inactive user, the only way to make the record Public again is to make the inactive user 'Active' so that you can sign on with that username and view it's private records.
If you have no 'extra' licenses but have multiple users, you can set an existing user to inactive and then use that license.
