Template Date Problem

I am using Act 2008, 10.0
In generating a letter using an edited template, the current date is erroneously inserted into the document. It behaves like a hidden field that can't be found.  Opening the Insert Time/Date dialog box fails to remedy the problem.

Re: Template Date Problem

If you cannot find how to get rid of the date in the current template, how about this:

Open the template so as to edit it (I.e. - do not do a merge).

Highlight all of the content other than the position/area where the date is showing when you run a merge on it.

Copy the content.

Close the template w/o saving

Back in Act!, from Write menu, do a "New Letter/Email Template".

In the new, blank template, do a paste, inserting the content from the "bad" template (less the date of course).

Save the template to a new name.

Merge to it.  If you avoided the date when highlighting the content, you should be good to go...
