When I complete a Task or Alarm, or just change the date of the task or alarm, ACT always goes back to the beginning of the Task List.
How do I get it to let me work with the next one on the list?

I don't think you can.
I just tried in ACT! 2009 11.1 - changing the date stayed on the activity (didn't even re-sort) - but after clearing it, the selector jumped to the top.
You might post a request for this feature to be considered for a future version here - http://www.act.com/community/feature
Input from this web page goes directly into a database that management has direct access to read, and which they also track and gather statistics on.
