Syncing Act 2012 with Outlook

I cannot sync my Act with Outlook. I get a message that syncronization has failed.

In the Windows system tray, do you see an Orange icon...if you hover over it, it should say "ACT Sync Service for synchronizing ACT data with Outlook"?

 

You should also have another icon: if you right click, then "show progress", its called "Attach to ACT Contacts Progress"

 

In Outlook, under "Add-ons", do you see the Act toolbar icons?

 

I assume you've set sync up in: Tools > Syncronise with Outlook > Outlook Syncronise Preferences?
