We have two databases that we use and both have remote users. I understand we can only have one database open at a time on the main server and a database must be open to synchronize. If we can only have one database open at one time, how would you synchronize without having to open and close databases at the main server.

What you want to do requires the premium version of the ACT! program. That version has a sync server that allows the synchronization to take place with the ACT! program closed.

Also use the ACT scheduler for hte sync process to run in the background.
on a side note, consider if your really need two databases.. Most people do not and the fewer databases, the better.
