Synchronizing Contacts with MS Outlook / Contacts Are Deleted in MS Outlook

[ Edited ]

I am having contacts disappear, in MS Outlook 2007, after synchronizing the same with my ACT! PRO 2011.  The synchronization is being manually generated with the "Recently added contacts" (contacts added to ACT! within the last week).  The button box, "Keep the Act! Contact," has been marked.  Please advise.

Is it just removing the contacts NOT added in the past week?

If you only have that one group, it's sort of what I'd expect

Try creating a Group contact create-date later than 1/1/2010 - and sync that.
Hopefully, you should have those added last year, plus any new ones.

Re: Synchronizing Contacts with MS Outlook / Contacts Are Deleted in MS Outlook

Thanks Mike.  I've got 1,586 contacts in MS Outlook and 2,941 contacts in ACT! 2011.  I use "Email Lead Grabber Business 2011" to add contacts, to ACT! 2011, that use our website email response form.  Then, I do a manual synchronization between ACT and MS Outlook.  It appears that the missing contacts in MS Outlook are random but contacts that I use rather frequently.

Re: Synchronizing Contacts with MS Outlook / Contacts Are Deleted in MS Outlook

I do frequent emailings with my prospects.  I prefer emailing directly from MS Outlook.  Have not had much luck doing the same through ACT.  It seems a little clumsy working from the ACT address book in MS Outlook. Thanks!

If you set the ACT! address book as default and use Xobni to populate the auto list, this is much better way to work.

Or, depending on how many contacts you have, delete the Outlook contacts (backup ACT! first as I once saw this then delete them from ACT!), then tell ACT! to sync all the database

Thank you for the great advice.  I purchased the plus version and I'm very impressed.
