Sync via Mesh

I thought that, rather than using Act's Sync routine, I'd sync by putting the database in files on multiple computers that are automatically synced by Microsoft Mesh.  Although a brilliant idea (in my opinion), it didn't work, apparently because Act does not update the time stamp on the database when it updates it, so that Mesh doesn't know its changed and therefore doesn't initiate a sync.

Has anybody had success trying this or something similiar?

I can't see any product like that working with the SQL engine properly.

Why are you looking for something other than ACT!'s sync?

My thought is that this would be an automatic process, thereby saving me the time and trouble of updating using Act's built in sync process.

Depending on your version, you might be able to use the scheduler as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article - http://tinyurl.com/5lg5xu

With ACT! standard, you still have to have the master open and logged in, with Premium you don't have to

Re: Sync via Mesh

That's a good idea.  Thanks.  (I do think mine is much better--if only it worked).
