Sync outlook and Act 2010

Hi, I want to switch to act 2010 from 2006 and want to know

 1. Are enough of the kinks in 2010 worked through yet or should I give it a bit more time in the lab?

2. I want to keep act and outlook contacts in sync. - does the program now do it out of the box? And if it does how has it worked for everybody.

3. Can the sync work automatically or do I have to run something like once a week?

 Thanks

Re: Sync outlook and Act 2010

2010 has some kinks, but it is pretty solid.  Get a trial and test first, but likely you will find it is a good move  (this is not like Act! 2005).

You will need an addon for contact sync between Outlook and Act.

Sync can be scheduled - and it is usually preferable to sync more than weekly.

Hi,

I sure agree with that. The sync is good but does not do it for contacts, it needs an update which is like 50$ USD.

[Edit: Removed question regarding ACT! for Real Estate as it is duplicated in another post]

Re: Sync outlook and Act 2010

Do you have a link where one could purchase this add on?  I have a client looking to sync his contacts between both Outlook 2007 and ACT 2010.

Hello SInce,

ACT! 2011 actually has that feature built in, you don't need to by a add-on, you can sync your contacts and calendar between outlook and ACT!

Thanks,

What are the upgrade costs associated with 2011?  They just have a 2 user license for ACT 2010 they bought a few months back.

Hello Bob,

Take a look at the link below, it will tell you how much it is to buy the upgrade. You can also check around with any major reseller in your area.

Re: Sync outlook and Act 2011

I have ACT 2011 and Outlook 2010 and it syncs but not everything. I keep my database in Outlook with Categories and you can't sync categories or Notes with ACT. I think I have to buy a very expensive add on to do it. If anyone knows something cheaper than 123sync, please let me know. Not even sure that this does the trick.
