Sync issues few different errors

Synchronization has failed. Unable to translate bytes [D3] at index 70 from specified code page to Unicode.

 

Sync has to be done 3-4 times. Almost finished but then fails at the end with same error above with different index # codes?

 

Also seems to be taking a very long time for only a few changes in database?30 minutes to an hour sometimes

What version and build of ACT! are you using?  Go to Help/About ACT! and get the version number in bold for both the server and the remote computers.

Version 2008 - 10.182 running on server 2003 .Clients machines are XP service pack 2 . Running through a VPN.

Does this error occur with just one remote database or multiple/all users?  If it's just for one user, then I would suggest replacing the remote database.

 

One thing I would strongly advise is to upgrade the server and all users to build 10.0.3 (has to be done for all machines). There were significant improvements made to Synchronization in this update.  You can obtain this update from the Downloads page under the Service & Support tab on our website, www.act.com.

Checked server and client both have latest patches. Version 10.0.3.182 hotfix 1

Disabling symantex Endpoint Protection seemed to solve this
network threat protection was on, when turned off the sync worked fine
