Sorting Alphabetically by CONTACT Name

I have Sage ACT! Pro 2011 and am trying to sort my database by CONTACT name; however, when I go into List view and click the column heading "CONTACT," it does not sort alphabetically by CONTACT name.  All other columns will sort alphabetically when I click on the column title (e.g. Company, City, Phone, Address, etc.).  How can I get it to sort alphabetically by CONTACT name?

Re: Sorting Alphabetically by CONTACT Name

Hello Bwmuhich,

Welcome to the Sage ACT! Online Community!

The 'Contact' column in the Contact List view will sort alphabetically by Last Name.  Here are 2 other options for sorting that may meet your needs:

1. Use Edit menu, Sort option.  With this option you can choose up to 3 fields on which to sort your contacts.  The fields you most likely would choose will be First Name and Last Name.

2. Customize the columns in the List view to include First Name and Last Name fields, so they can be clicked on to sort.  This can be done through the View menu / Customize Columns option.
