Sort Notes/History reports by Notes date only?

I'm new to ACT and want to create a report that duplicates a report from our old system.  Previously we were able to sort by the date of a note first, then by the company name.  The oldest notes were at the top of the report and the most recent at the bottom, even if they involved the same contact or the same company.

Is there any way to get ACT to sort on only the date of the Notes in the entire report, not just within the notes for one contact?  I'd like to be able to see the oldest notes in the report first and have the most recent notes at the bottom of the document.  I've spent several hours chasing this to no avail.

That's not an option with the reports.

Re: Sort Notes/History reports by Notes date only?

Mr. Laudenslager, I have a similar problem. We have several salespersons using ACT 9.0. They generate "contact reports" which include the "notes". Most of the reports show the notes, most recent on top and oldest at bottom. We have 2 people that the reporting of notes is just opposite, oldest notes on top and most recent on bottom.

How may this be resolved?

You will need to edit their report template and changed the date sort in the subreport to decending rather than ascending.
