Smartphone Confusion! Help!

I need to get a new phone and desktop computer and replace my old Handspring(Palm OS).

What is the best smartphone for use in synchronizing with ACT?  I am in sales and sync when I get back to office in late afternoon and want the smartphone that has the best display and use of ACT features while out of office.

Have a look at:

Right now, the most complete set of ACT! data is Handheld Contact with Blackberry or iPhone

I usually prefer the Blackberry as per:

Both sync via the internet... so no need to get back to the office

Mike,

Thanks very much.  It sounds as though you have really put in the time to figured it all out.  I will go with your advice.  Where do you get Handheld Contact?

Re: Smartphone Confusion! Help!

Mike et al,

Do I need to use an annual fee service to link a smartphone?  I do not want to increase my annual expenses.  I want to use a USB chord to sync, not a data plan.  I do not text, E-mail or web searching while out of the office.  It looks like the best route for me is to buy the Campanion Link?

Is there an operating system of the majors that syncs and displays the most clearly(I need readers now) ACT info the best?

Blackberry (mike's fav), Droid, I-Phone, Windows Mobile?

MatthewZ,

As you can tell, there are numerous ways to sync Act! with a smartphone - for syncing with a connected USB cable you may want to look at CompanionLink (http://www.companionlink.com/).  I don't offer a recommendation for any of the products since I don't use them, but I offer it as an option to review.

Re: Smartphone Confusion! Help!

123 Synchronizer also doesn't require a service and is more reliable than Companion Link

But, it's important to note that any of the more current products will be a service as most people want to sync while on the road
