Smart Task - new user

Hello,

I have upgraded to ACT-2011 for the Smart Task.

I would need to do this. ( have  not figured if it is posible without creating many, small, Smart Tasks.)

Example:

I have 5 contacts asigned to a Smart Task.

My Smart Task has 10 steps.

For 1 of the 5 contacts I need to get from step 4 to step 9, without passing thru 5,6,7,8. But I need this steps for all the other contacts.

With Activity Series I simply deleted the activites for that particular contact.

Would branching be an option? Is it posible with Smart Task?

This is something that is posible in Activator and my first impresion was that Smart Tasks also delivers it.

Hello Vio1985,

Welcome to the ACT! Online Community!

There are no options within the ACT! program for skipping steps within Smart Tasks.  All steps will run for all contacts that are selected/meet criteria.

I had this same issue, and what I did was tell the user to go ahead and schedule the task that you want/need to skip, then instead of clearing that task, *erase* it so there's no record.

Now, these were only activities - if you have emails being sent automatically on an intermediary step than this won't necessarily work, but it does if it's just an activity.

Hope this helps...
