Re: Slow to log on?

Not an easy question to answer without a bit more info:

How long does it take?
Is it slow after that?
What version of ACT!? The exact ver from Help | About
Local or network database?
If you change to the demo database exit and then start is it also slow?

Re: Slow to log on?

If using ACT 9 or 10, you might have a look at this article in the ACT! Knowledge Base

With a couple of additions:
I recommend 1GB min for XP, and 2GB for Vista - more for large databases or servers
In XP make sure your Swap File is 2GB (min) or double the amount of RAM (whichever is greater)

Also, a 7200 rpm min is much better than an older 5400 rpm drive
