We are running into a licensing issue using Act premium 2009 (11) hotfix1.
We install ACT thru silent installs pushed thru the network by SMS.
There is a text file in the network installation directory named si.txt which includes a serial #. This # is pushed to the workstation while the install runs.
Sometimes our serial # in the si.txt stops working because we reach the maximum # of installs for that #. I then update it with a new unused serial # and wait for it to fail again. This happened recently during an install for our CEO – quite embarrassing.
Is there a workaround for this?

ACT! serial numbers have a limit to the number of times they can be activated (tolerances) to prevent violations to the licensing agreement. This number is initially set based on the number of seats associated with that serial number plus additional tolerances to accomodate reinstalls when needed. Please send me a list of the serial numbers you are using via Private Message and I will be happy to review the current tolerance settings for them.
Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
