Sharing Database

I am trying to get a remote computer to be able to access a database that they need to sync a Pocket PC phone with. I have made the Database Shared and have Shared the folders it is in with Full Permission to change the files. I have copied the .pad file over to their computer via a Gateway connection. Have opened the pad file in Notepad and put in my IP address. When I try to open the database on their computer this is the error I get "Can not find Database Supplemental Files Folder".

Re: Sharing Database

Try this ACT! Knowledge Base article - http://tinyurl.com/4meucn

Although, if connecting via a VPN, often using sync for the remote is a better solution

To sync to a Pocket PC, I usually recommend Handheld Contact as the best option - have a play with the trial to see if it suits you.

Re: Sharing Database

Looks like the program you are recommending is for use via a wireless connection?

Thanks

Re: Sharing Database

Yes. As ActiveSync is the cause of many issues with syncing to the device, the benift of wireless sync bypassing this is a major reason it works so well
